You will feel that you are inside a painting. The floating islands of the Uros<\/strong> They conquer tourists with their colors. In them, you can do experiential tourism and learn about the culture and traditions of the Peruvians who inhabit them. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Nothing compares to seeing the blue sky of Puno reflected in the wonderful waters of Lake Titicaca. Totora platforms, made from the reed that grows in the water, will catch your eye in the middle of the blue paradise. These islands are located to the west of said lake, and to the north of Puno. <\/span><\/p>\n Titicaca is considered the highest navigable lake in the world and it has an altitude of 3,810 m.a.s.l.<\/strong> The Uros are known as the floating people of said lake. It is considered that the Uro ethnic group became extinct, however, its legacy continues in the Aymaras who adopted this particular way of life. <\/span><\/p>\n These islands are artificial, created by the ancestors who inhabited this area with reeds and are renewed by their inhabitants. The houses and incredible boats in which you can take a ride are also made with the reed collected from the water. <\/span><\/p>\n Between three and seven families live on each island, sustaining themselves thanks to fishing and hunting. They do business or trade in the Puno market. Here, you can also see the wonderful and colorful embroideries made by the members of this community, they also produce reed crafts that are offered to tourists. <\/span><\/p>\n You will get to know the places of worship, built on a central island, where schools and other common places are also located for practical reasons. You will be able to learn from the experts, the Uros, to navigate the Titicaca or stone Puma from the experts. Most of the islands are within the boundaries of the Lake Titicaca National Reserve.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n During the way to the island, the guides will tell you the story. Upon arrival, the members of this community will be waiting for you to tell you about their traditional way of life. From Los Uros you can travel by boat to the Amantani Island.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Here you can enjoy a delicious lunch made with local products, music, typical dances and walk to the highest part<\/strong>, where they will see the sunset.
