Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu
Make the most of your time in Cusco by exploring the main Inca archaeological sites of the Sacred Valley in preparation for finally seeing the ruins of Machu Picchu.
You will begin your tour of the Sacred Valley visiting a colorful market to then walk through the ruins of Pisac, with an impressive landscape of the Valley.
You will head toward Urubamba, where a replenishing lunch made with natural ingredients from the Sacred Valley will be waiting for you.
Next, you will leave for Ollantaytambo, where you will see its ruins and the town that has existed in the same place since the time of the Incas; from here you will take a train to Aguas Calientes while enjoying the Sacred Valley’s landscapes at sunset.
The next day you will have the option of walking uphill (1 hr) or taking a bus (20 min) to the entrance of the Machu Picchu ruins.
The bilingual guide will be waiting for you by the entrance at the agreed time, and they will reveal the history and secrets surrounding these ruins of Machu Picchu.
Additionally, you can visit the Mountain or Huayna Picchu, with unique views, if you were able to purchase any of its limited spots during your reservation at the beginning.
The train to Ollantaytambo will be waiting for you in Aguas Calientes. From Ollantaytambo, the private bus will take you back to downtown Cusco.

Day 1:

The climb takes about 1 hour. Wayna Picchu is also known as the young mountain and it’s where the Temple of the Moon is located. The Huayna Picchu mountain is located north of Machu Picchu.
