• The Qeswachaca Bridge is the only Inca bridge that has survived for more than 500 years.
• The Qeswachaca Bridge is made of ichu and is hand-woven, it linked to the Qhapaq Ñan, a road that connected the Tahuantinsuyo. Qeswachaka is renewed annually, between June 12 and 14 in a 4-day festival, where over a thousand inhabitants of the surrounding communities renew it through rituals and typical dances, as a tribute to their ancestors.

Three bridges built at different times in Peruvian history persist over the Ausangate or Pitumayu river, in the town of Checacupe:
√ The Colonial Bridge: Built by order of King Carlos III of Spain between 1759 and 1788 based on ashlar masonry bonded with lime and canto in the same Roman style where taxes collected for the Spanish crown were paid when crossing the bridge.
√ The Inca Bridge: Built between 1400 and 1448 by order of Inca Wiracocha as part of the Qapaq Ñan. It is made of llama leather and Quiswar branches.
√ The Republican Bridge: Built in 1895 by order of Peruvian President Mariscal Ramón Castilla. It is made of rail iron.
