For those with limited travel days but still yearning to experience hiking in Colca Canyon. Your journey begins with a scenic 4-hour drive to the Colca Valley. Our first stop is the town of Chivay, where we'll enjoy breakfast. Continuing on, we'll head to Cruz del Cóndor, boasting some of the most breathtaking views and the chance to witness the majestic flight of the mythical Inca bird, the condor. Next on our itinerary is Pampa San Miguel, marking the official start of our trek. As we descend, you'll marvel at the diverse vegetation, ranging from Andean to tropical, amidst unforgettable scenery. Upon reaching the canyon floor, we'll cross the hanging bridge of San Juan de Chuccho, arriving at the village of the same name. Our journey proceeds to Cosnihua, initially along a steep path that later levels out, leading us to the village of Malata. We conclude our excursion at the enchanting oasis of Sangalle, nestled amidst the canyon's mountains and renowned for its outdoor natural spring pools. Here, we'll spend the night in cozy cabins, surrounded by the tranquility of nature.
On the second day, we'll rise early and embark on a 3-hour uphill hike to return to the upper part of the canyon. Upon our return to Arequipa, you'll have the opportunity to visit the thermal baths of Chivay. An unforgettable experience awaits you!

Day 1 (7hrs of trekking, 16km.)
- Pick-up from your hotel in downtown Arequipa.
- You will meet the professional guide who will accompany you on this adventure.
- We will embark on approximately a 4-hour journey to Chivay.
- We will make a stop in the village for a continental breakfast.
- Continuing to Cruz del Cóndor (about 2 hours), where you will marvel at the stunning views.
- Be amazed by the majesty of the condor's flight, a unique moment in the experience.
- Arriving at Pampa San Miguel, we will begin the descent into Colca Canyon (4 hrs approx). Along the way, we will enjoy the diverse vegetation and the geography of the area.
- Cross the hanging bridge of San Juan de Chuccho to reach the village of the same name.
- Lunch in Chuccho
- We will continue the descent to Cosnihua (about 1 hour), passing through the village of Malata.
- After an additional 2 hours of travel, we will arrive at the beautiful oasis of Sangalle.
- You will have free time to use its pools.
- We will rest in a comfortable rustic cabin.
Day 2(3.5hrs of trekking, 5 km):
- We'll start the day with the sunrise.
- For approximately 3 hours, we will ascend 1300m on a zigzagging and steep path.
- Upon reaching Cabanaconde, we will enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant.
- We will board our transportation to head to Chivay, passing by the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint.
- Visit to the thermal baths of Chivay.
- Lunch in Chivay.
- We'll return to the city of Arequipa, arriving at sunset.

- In the short version of the original, the hikes are longer and more demanding. Because there are many ups and downs, it's important to be in good physical condition. It's a challenging trek. Walking poles are recommended.
